Navy Bereavement Pin
The Royal Australian Navy (RAN) has commissioned a bereavement pin to recognise the valued contribution of all Navy personnel who lost their lives in peace and war while in the service of the RAN and Australia. The Navy Bereavement Pin (NBP) is a symbol to assist family members to commemorate the life and service of a relative who was lost while serving in the Navy.
John Maddock is managing the Bereavement Pin program, and in addition to having a webpage within the Navy website, Is trying to further publicize it.
The NBP eligibility criterion are:
a) the passing of the Sailor or Officer occurred while they were still a member of the RAN;
b) the applicant, and any other persons included in the nomination, is/are related to that Sailor or Officer.
